What Windows Utility did you use to write the disc? Did you create a video DVD or a data DVD? Thanks for the DVD 101 course - I will hold off on explaining Consumer Centric Product Design and Development 101 as I am sure it would only solicite another condesending reply. By the way, after rebooting my laptop, I was able to create the file on the hard drive, but Easy VHS to DVD would not write the disk, but the Windows utility that came with the operating system was able to write the disk - with quality equal to the vhs tape (which due to age is not very good - but something I wanted to archive anyway before the tape was totally unusable). Silly me expecting this product to be as least as functional as my very old HP DVD Movie Writer. If this product only works well on big desktop machines - and cannot compress a file to fit on a 4.7Gb DVD - then my guess it will be history in a very short period of time. Don't need any excuses Jim to return the product other than it does not work - if it was not meant to be used on a laptop then the box should say so - if I meet minimum system requirements - I think it is reasonable to expect it to work.
